Panchakarma

Panchakarma is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves a series of cleansing and rejuvenating treatments designed to restore the body’s natural balance and promote overall health and well-being.

The phases of panchakarma resemble a purification akin to cleansing a vessel. To ensure thorough cleansing and the extraction of most entrenched residues from the body, the toxins must first dissolve. Just as a detergent aids in eliminating grease from a surface, panchakarma utilizes ghee (clarified, melted butter), serving as a gentle yet effective detergent, to dissolve the adhesive substances within the body.

In alignment with the cleaning analogy:

  1. 1. Eliminate the “dust” or “adhesive elements.”
  2. 2. Apply the detergent or “Ghee” (butter free of lactose).
  3. 3. Cleanse or “flush out toxins from the body” based on the individual’s condition.
  4. 4. Restore its brilliance or “Revitalize.”

Panchakarma stands as a time-honored remedy for contemporary ailments, offering a transformative journey. Its advantages encompass:

Treatment Itinerary

All treatments follow a comprehensive medical approach, which is why the treatment plan can vary for each guest. Nevertheless, there are fundamental elements that remain consistent for everyone.

PROCEDURE

Nasyam can be performed independently, without the need for extensive preparations like snehapanam. The medicinal solution for nasyam is gently warmed using a water bath.

Here’s what to expect during the procedure:

  1. Sit comfortably on a chair while a gentle massage is administered to your face and shoulder using a small amount of oil.
  2. Following the massage, a mild steam treatment will be directed at your face and shoulder.
  3. Lie down on the therapy table after these preparatory steps.
  4. Your eyes will be covered with a clean cotton cloth, and the lukewarm medicinal solution will be poured alternately into both nostrils.
  5. Immediately after the medicine is instilled, a gentle massage will be given to your face, palms, soles, temples, and cheeks.
  6. Inhale the medicine with moderate force and expel it through your mouth, turning your head from side to side without getting up from the lying position.

AFTERCARE

After the procedure, remain lying down for a few minutes as rising too quickly might cause dizziness. Medicated smoke inhalation and gargling with warm saline water will help expel any residual mucus.
